Fine Art Print Store
As we enjoy taking pictures and do things outside of being hired for portrait photography, we are making prints available of some of the images we have taken over time. This store is under construction, more items will be added to it as well as additional functionality. Have you seen something we've done, but don't see it here, just drop us a line.
Printing photographs is an art form in itself. There is more to it then downloading the images and sending it to the printer. A good printer from the darkroom days would manipulate the image to highlight what they think is the focus, then darken other parts to draw the viewers eyes to where he wanted. There were techniques to make an image sharper, plus they would adjust the entire exposure and contrast.
Printing digital images on a professional printer, while the process is different, takes the same ideas to really get a great print. Instead of using filters at the enlarger, you need to use the digital tooks to correct the color of your images. Then with each type of media you are using, whether it is canvas prints, aluminum prints, leather prints, plexi-glass prints, etc, you need to do further work on the image just to get the print to turn out well. I can spend over an hour just preparing an image for printing, and that doesn't include the time to prepare the specialty media or finish it properly. For many of the specialty media I will spend around 1.5 hours in labor per print. This is the only way I feel comfortable offering these unique, fine art prints, for if I didn't put the time into them to make them look great, they are not worth the cost for people to buy them nor for me to put in the time to make them.
Limited Edition Canvas
Each of the images here are printed on museum quality canvas and a museum quality varnish is used to coat and protect them from fingerprints, oils, water and harmful UV rays. All of the prints have a limited run size and are signed on an edge so the signature doesn't distract from the image itself.Limited Edition Metal
All of the images here are not only limited in quantity printed, signed and numbered, they are printed on a form of metal whether it is brass, copper or aluminum.Limited Edition Wood
Printing on wood veneer is rather tricky. The coatings that are used are water based. Water and wood don't get along too well, causes the wood to warp. I need to take several extra steps in order to get these printed properly.Greeting Cards
Greeting cards are a great way to send a small piece of artwork to a loved one. My cards have a 5x7 picture on them and are coated with a UV protective coating that allows it to last a lifetime just like my 8x10 prints. You may write on the inside of the card and the coating will prevent fingerprints and smears from occuring on the picture.
